Summary
The coupon module will allow your Miva store to redeem and process coupons that you have given out to your customers. If a coupon is associated with an affiliate, it will give the customer their discount and the affiliate credit in the Miva affiliates subsystem.
Configuration
| Module is: | This is the master switch for the module. The module is either on or off. |
| Coupon Desc: | This is the display text to the left of the coupon text entry box. |
| Coupon Text: | This is the display text at the bottom of the coupon text entry box. |
| Global Text: | This is the global coupon text that is displayed after a global coupon has been redeemed. |
| Order by: | You may select the
sort order of how coupons are displayed
in the Miva Admin area. 1. Code (default) - Display coupons by code 2. Start Date - Display coupons by start date 3. Expires Date - Display coupons by expiration date |
| Coupon Display Line: | Remove - Check remove

| Coupon Code: | Enter your new coupon code in the text box. If you are editing a coupon, you can not change this text (delete coupon). This is the code your customer will have to enter for redemption. |
| Coupon Type: | The coupon type is "Global" or "Product". If you enter a coupon thru the system extensions area, it is a "Global" coupon and applies to the whole order. If you enter the coupon thru the products area, it is a "Product" coupon and applies only to a product. |
| Affiliate Link: | You may associate a Miva affiliate to a coupon (if your Miva affiliates subsystem is active). If an association is made, the affiliate will get credit for a sale when the customer redeems a coupon. The payment is based on what you have set up in the Affiliates subsystem. This association allows you to give out coupons to your best affiliates. They can display the coupon code on their site to drive traffic to your site. If, and only if, the customer makes a purchase, the affiliate will receive credit for the sale. |
| Discount Type: | Select either "Amount"
or "Percentage". Amount - Coupon will be a fixed amount off deduction Percentage - Coupon will be a percentage deduction |
| Amount or %: | Enter the Amount or
Percentage off Amount example - 2.00 ($2.00 off) Percentage example - 10 (10% off) |
| Min Total Products: | This is a set number of items that have to be purchased (of a specific product [Product] or the total items [Global]) before the coupon can be redeemed. |
| Minimum Subtotal: | The minimum subtotal of the order that is required before a coupon can be redeemed (Global only). |
| Min Basket Count: | The minimum basket count of the order that is required before a coupon can be redeemed (Product only). |
| Max Use (0 is off): | The maximum number of times a coupon can be used (0 sets the usage to unlimited). |
| Used counter: | If the Max Use is set, this is the counter of how many times the coupon has been used. |
| Active: | Yes - The coupon is
active. No - The coupon is not active. |
| Start Date: | Set the month-day-year that the coupon is to become active. |
| Expiration Date: | Set the month-day-year that the coupon is to become in-active. |
| Description: | This is the internal description for the coupon |
| Display Desc: | This is the public description that is displayed to the customer after the coupon has been redeemed |
| This coupon can be the only coupon used in the entire order: | If checked, the coupon must be the only coupon used in the entire order |
| This coupon can be used ONLY once by a customer (based on CustID): | If checked, this coupon
can be used only once by a customer.
This is based on the Miva customer
ID. Note: If a customer creates more that one account, the coupon can be used again. |
| This is a one-time use coupon (auto-delete from file after one use): | If checked, this is a "Throw-away" coupon. It's purpose is for a special one time use. After redemption, the coupon is deleted from the coupon table. |
| Free Shipping Allowance: | If checked, this will refund the shipping charge the user has selected in addition to the discount. The shipping amount is added to the coupon amount on the payment screen (after the customer selects a shipping method). |
Installation
Installing the NP_Coupon module:
1. Save and extract the ZIP file that contains the ReadMe and Module.
2. Run the Miva administration program (admin).
3. Click on the arrow next to Modules.
4. Click on "Add Modules"
5. Click on the "Upload" graphic button.
6. Enter (or browse for) the filename of the module on your system.
7. Click on the "Upload" button
8. Click on the "Add" button.
[The module will now be installed on your site.]
Installing the NP_Coupon module in your Store:
1. Run the Miva administration program (admin).
2. Click on the arrow next to Stores.
3. Click on the arrow next to "YourStore".
4. Click on "System Extension Configuration".
5. CheckMark the box next to NetPush Coupons.
6. Click on "Update".
[The module will now be installed in your store.]
Configuring the NP_Coupon module in your Store:
1. Click on the name of the module (NetPush Coupons).
2. Configure as needed.
3. Click on "Update".
[The module will now be active in your store.]
